They treated Arnie and Jimmy like shit since they were born. His dad is an alcoholic and his mother doesn't care about him at all. When Arnie got his letter from Hogwarts, his parents sent him away as soon as they could. Then, as he was away for the duration of his first year, they decided they liked having him gone. His parents had him spend the last few summers at camps, the only thing they were happy to spend money for him on.
